Christmas come with seasonal sweets . Those little pieces of heaven that remind us so much of our grandmothers and sweeten our hearts . Going back to those times when we waited for Santa Claus surrounded by our loved ones.
The Christmas alfajores are far from being the world-renowned Argentine alfajores (which are a delicacy that raises sighs from the first bite).
These alfajores have their origin in Andalusia, Spain. Where, thanks to the presence of the Arabs, they were called al-Ajú(r) now Alfajor . The first officially published recipe for this Easter candy can be found under the name of Medina Sidonia alfajores published in 1881 by Dr. Thebussem .
Preparation time;35 minutes
Serves ;12 pieces
Ingredients
150 g shelled hazelnuts
150 g almonds
50 g Sesame
1 teaspoon ground anise
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1 ground clove
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon or a cinnamon stick
250 g ground bread
200ml honey
100 g Brown sugar
glass of Water
Preparation
Toast the hazelnuts, almonds and sesame seeds on a griddle. Once toasted, we grind in a processor.
In a pot we heat the honey with the sugar and a glass of water to make a syrup.
Once the syrup is made , we let it cool to be able to manipulate it, we add the grounded ingredients little by little to create a uniform and malleable mass.
Remove from the pot and let rest for 5 min.
We form logs 8 cm long by 2 cm in diameter and sprinkle them with icing sugar to decorate.
To enjoy! I wish you sweet and sweet holidays !
