Mexican Christmas rolls

 



This recipe from Mexican cuisine is actually a recipe that is essential for Christmas in Mexico .The buns are filled with sardines and chorizo filling and serve hot with chillies. 



Ingredients

1 and a half cups of marinated sardines (from a can)

1 cup of chorizo

​​200 grams of finely chopped onion

Oregano to taste

Serrano peppers in vinegar

5 dinner rolls 



Process:

Canned sardines must be  their skeleton removed. Only the meat is concerned.


In a frying pan, place the chorizo ​​to fry over a very low heat, so that it is well cooked, but without browning too much. As soon as it is ready, remove from the heat and add the sardines.


Finely chop the onion, as well as the chiles. Stir these with the chorizo, sardine and oregano.


Let the filling rest for half an hour, so that the ingredients are well integrated.


 Take buns and cut  them in two.

Fill the buns  and let them rest for a while (they  will absorb the flavors of the filling). Put the Christmas rolls  in the oven for ten minutes.

Serve Hot.

It is preferable, if not everyone eats spicy, to serve the buns  accompanied by a whole serrano pepper.

If you are going to use the mini buns  for an event, it is preferable to fill them, wrap them in aluminum foil and store them in the refrigerator until the next day. 

Bake the cakes before serving them. The bread will have been impregnated with the flavors. Hot of course they taste better
