Christmas chocolate cake bars

Ingredients 


1 tsp  baking powder

280 g plain flour

5 Eggs

40 g cacoa

80 g  Granulated sugar

125 ml oil or melted butter 

80 g  Icing sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

125 ml water


Ingredients for the cream


500 ml whipped cream

2 tbsp vanilla sugar or sugar with little vanilla extract or powder 

20 g  Baking cocoa

Cream stiffner if possible 


 

 preparation

For the cream: First beat the cream with the mixer, so that a creamy mass is formed. While stirring, stir in the baking cocoa. Then add the vanilla sugar and cream stiffener. Place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

For the cake

Separate the eggs while you are eating. Sieve the flour with baking powder and cocoa. In another bowl, beat the egg whites with granulated sugar until stiff.

Then in another bowl, stir the egg yolks with icing sugar and vanilla extract until frothy. Add the water and oil and stir in the flour mixed. Fold in the egg whites.

Put the mixture on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven at 170 ° to 180 ° C in the oven for 45 minutes with top and bottom heat.

Take the cake out of the oven, let it cool and brush with cream. Then cut into suitable pieces.

Decorate with chocolate trees and sprinkle with lightly with cocoa powder.
