This german style cookie bars are made with shortcrust cookie and a chocolate almond meringue .This is a very colourful ,festive and delicious christmas treat .

Baking time ; 30 -40 minutes
ingredients
Flour 300 grams
butter 200 grams
sugar 100 grams
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp rum or 1tsp of extract
Almonds 150 gram
3 egg whites
sugar 100 grams
grated dark chocolate 70 grams
cinnamon 1 pinch
Clove powder 1 pinch
preparation
1. For the dough: Mix the first five ingredients into a smooth dough. Spread the dough on a greased baking sheet and bake at 180 to 200 degrees for 15 - 20 minutes depending on the type of oven.
2. Ingredients for the topping: Lightly toast the almonds in a pan. Beat the egg whites until stiff, then mix with the almonds and other ingredients.
3. Spread on the pre-baked cake and bake again at 155 to 175 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
