christmas muesli

Christmas muesli is one of those extra smart and delicious recipes that you can prepare both in advance and with what you have at home (dried fruit left over from other preparations, dehydrated fruit you prefer, aromas that you like the most and that remind you of the atmosphere of Christmas, but above all cereals and bows that you like most).

It could also be a valid idea for gifts in a Christmas jar, to give a personal touch to your gift basket.
In all this, how to taste muesli? I prefer to add it directly to the yogurt jar to give that extra crunchiness, but it can be eaten alone, in hot chocolate or, why not, also in milk or cappuccino.

Ingredients
100 g Cereals
100 g Oat flakes
20 g Hazelnuts
20 g Almonds
20 g Walnuts
60 ml water
60 g Honey or melted sugar
30 ml sunflower oil or melted butter
50 g Dark chocolate
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Chop all the dried nuts (hazelnuts, walnuts and almonds) in coarse pieces keeping them apart. In a non-stick pan, melt (over low heat) honey, water and oil. Be careful not to burn the mixture with a too high flame. Cook over a low heat for about 5 minutes until a golden caramel is created.

Then add the cereals, oat flakes and chopped dried fruit. Mix everything well to mix the ingredients and cook over low heat for about 15 minutes (in order to toast the muesli). With the flame off, add the very coarsely chopped dark chocolate and cinnamon, stirring again.

With the help of a spoon, pour the granola on a sheet of parchment paper trying not to chop it but leave it in coarse grains . Allow to cool completely and close in an airtight jar.
Serve with milk and yoghurt in a jar.
