Christmas lasagna

The lasagna noodles are cooked al dente and layered with  cheese , savory ground beef, and pasta sauce .The dish is topped with a rich tomato sauce and a sprinkling of  cheese, creating a mouthwatering presentation that will have you reaching for seconds.

Ingredients 

500 grams of ground beef
125 milliliters of warm water
1 pinch of dried basil
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon of dried oregano
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh garlic
800 grams of Italian tomato sauce
500 grams of lasagna sheets  or 16  lasagna strips 
455 grams of grated mozzarella cheese

Preparation 

Cook  the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off excess fat. Add the water and season with basil, garlic powder, oregano, pepper and fresh garlic.

Cook over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Incorporate the Italian sauce and remove from the heat.
Preheat the oven to 190 ° C.

Place a layer of meat with sauce in the bottom of a 23 x 33 cm baking pan. Cover with a layer of lasagna. Spread a thin layer of cheese on the pasta. I covered with another layer of sauce and repeat the process until finishing with a layer of meat and sauce.

Reserve about 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese for later use.
Bake for approximately 45 minutes.

The pasta will be ready when a knife can be easily inserted into it. Sprinkle the reserved mozzarella cheese and bake for 10 more minutes and serve .
