Christmas tuna pie


A Christmas pie without meat .It is great as a main dish or as a appetizer .If you like you can use boneless fish cooked in water with vinegar ,salt and pepper instead of tuna .It is healthy as we use fresh fish . If you serve this as a main dish do not forget to serve with green salad .

preparation time ;  about 1 hour

2 sheets of puff pastry
Olive oil
1-2 garlic cloves, chopped
200 g large sliced ​​onion
1 green, 1 yellow and 1 red pepper; cut into strips
Salt
Sugar 
Black pepper
400 g canned tomato or 2 sliced  fresh tomatoes 
1-2 cans of tuna belly or 500 g   boiled fish ,boneless 
2-3 cooked eggs
1 beaten egg

 

Preparation

The first thing is to make the sofrito, with a large frying pan: Put the garlic and the onion to sauté in a little oil, and then add the chopped pepper, also let it sauté.

Next  add the tomato. Season it  with salt, sugar and pepper. Let it cook and reduce over low heat. Stir, be careful holding on.

Let it cool down.

Take one of the puff pastry sheets and spread it in the mold,  (lined pie mold ). Spread the vegetable filling. Add the tuna loins and the hard-boiled egg on top, well distributed.

Unfold the other circle of dough, place it on top. Cut the excess part with a knife, join the two sheets together making a "hem". Seal the edges well. Prick with a fork over the entire surface.

With the remaining part,  make the decoration, making long strips and rolling them up on themselves, and we will place them on top, according to the taste of each one.

Brush with beaten egg.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Bake it in downside for  about 10-15 min, and then up and down another 15 minutes; in total 30 minutes or  until golden.
