Christmas rabindas

Rabandas is  like torrijTas as well as french toast .It is also popular in brazilian cuisine  . This is a portuguese  inspired dessert . It is a member of french toast family .It differ from normal french toast in many ways .This is normally eaten as a snack or as a dessert.
Let us know how to make these christmas dessert.

preparation time ; 30 minutes

ingredients 

1 baguette bread
350 ml of milk
20 g granulated sugar
2 strips of lemon peel
1 cinnamon stick
3 medium eggs
cooking oil for deep frying
35 g brown sugar
Cinnamon powder
 

The day before, cut the bread into slices, diagonally, approximately 1.5 cm thick. Arrange the sliced ​​bread on a tray without overlapping and covering it.

Place the milk with the granulated sugar, the cinnamon stick and the lemon peel, in a saucepan. Bring to a boil until it begins to boil.

Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Dip the slices of bread in the milk. Put to drain.

Beat the eggs. Pass the slices through the beaten eggs.

Fry the bread in hot oil (170ºC), turning the slices so that they are golden on both sides.
Do not fry too many at a time.

Place the slices to drain on absorbent paper, as they are fried.
On a plate, mix brown sugar  with cinnamon powder.
Still warm, pass the slices through the previous mixture.
