Ingredients

½ cup of butter at room temperature

 ¼ cup of powdered sugar

1 cup of sifted wheat flour

 M & Ms for decoration

preparation

Start your Christmas shortbread by mixing the butter with the icing sugar until you get a very fluffy, white dough.

We recommend using icing sugar because it is easier to mix and incorporate into the dough - see how to make homemade icing sugar .

Gradually add the wheat flour and beat until everything is very homogeneous, in a consistent and soft dough.

Wrap your play dough in a film paper and take it to the freezer for 10 minutes, to be more consistent.

Remove the dough from the freezer and, using a rolling pin, open the dough to a thickness of 0.5 cm. Then cut your cookies into the shape you prefer.

To prevent the dough from sticking to the pasta roll, place it between two sheets of film paper. When cutting, sprinkle your cutter with a little icing sugar, this prevents the dough from sticking to it.

Line a baking sheet with baking paper and place your Christmas cookies in it. Now comes the delicious part: decorating! I separated red and green M & Ms, to remember Christmas, and distributed them among the cookie disks.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC for about 12 minutes, remove from the pan and let it cool for 10 minutes.
