Christmas cranberry chutney

 


This cranberry apple christmas chutney is a sweet and savory dip to serve with cold meats and cheeses .The chutney can be made  weeks before christmas you can enjoy during all holidays . It is a custom to add a tablespoon of this chutney to curries and stir fries as well as make canapes with this chutney during christmas time .

  cooking time ; 1 1/2 hours

Apples 1 kg , chopped

Cranberry 250 g

Onion1 , chopped

 vinegar ½ teaspoon

brown  sugar½ cup

Ground ginger ½ teaspoon

Salt to taste

Ground black peppe to rtaste


 instructions

1. Place the chopped apples and chopped onion in a saucepan.

2. Add vinegar, sugar, ginger.

3. Salt and pepper.

4. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 50 minutes.

5. Add cranberries, cook for another 10 minutes.

6. Divide into jars when it is cooled .

7 . Keep in a cool place for storing .
