Christmas corn flour cookies

 

The Christmas  corn flour   biscuits made from lemon flavored corn meal dough .

Easy and quick to prepare, rustic and delicate, crumbly and tender, they are perfect as snacks of the tea time .

Total time: 40 min + 1 h (rest)

 Serves ; 25 - 30





Ingredients

220 g corn flour 

30 g  plain flour

100 g icing sugar

90 g butter

1 egg

1 lemon

8 g of baking powder

1 pinch of salt


 

Preparation:


Sift the flours directly on the pastry board.

Create a hole in the center and sift the icing sugar over it.

Add the egg, a pinch of salt, the baking powder and grated lemon zest.

With a fork, gently break the egg and gently mix into the flour with the sugar.

Also add the butter and work the dough with your hands until it becomes smooth and homogeneous.

Form a ball of dough.

Wrap the dough in plastic film and let rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Resume kneading dough and knead quickly.

Roll out to a thickness of 1 cm and shape trees with a cookie cutter.

Place on the baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Preheat the oven in static mode to 180 ° C.

Bake for about 20 minutes until the cookies have  a beautiful golden color.

Remove from the oven and let cool on a baking rack.

Serve and enjoy!
