Christmas drob

 






Drob, fully named Drob de Miel or Drob de Paste is a traditional Romanian dish of lamb offals, green onions, herbs, eggs, and bread soaked in water or milk. The boiled offals are chopped and mixed with all the other ingredients and seasoned with salt and pepper.
This is quiet different recipe of drob with a christmas twist.Use beef instead of pork if you want.You can make puff pastry at home or buy from shop.You can find homemade recipe in my blog.

Serves ; 4

ingredients

-500 g pork with fat

-1 kg pork liver

-6 smoked sausages or normal sausages 

-5-6 cloves of garlic

-2 onions

-5 eggs

- 1 puff pastry

-a little bit of oil

-1 glass of brandy or chicken broth

-Dill  or parsley

-salt pepper


Method of preparation

Put the liver to boil in salted water and when it is ready rinse with cold water and strain.

 Blend through the mincer together with the pork, garlic and onion the mixture in a little oil and allow to cool

Mix with dill and chopped parsley to taste .

Add 4 eggs, brandy and mix well, well ..

for baking I used aluminum trays but you can use any other tray.

I  lined them with a little oil, a little flour and then in each I put the pastry up to the middle of the form, on top of it two smoked sausages and I finished with the rest of the meat mixture. 

For the appearance beat an egg, mixed it with a spoonful of breadcrumbs and poured over the pastry of each tray

Put in the oven until nicely browned.

Allow to cool, remove from the mold, cut into suitable slices and serve as an appetizer.
