Christmas bredeles

The production of Christmas bredeles at home begins with the start of Advent.  They are excellent to snack on throughout the day especially with a good coffee .   The Christmas spirit is coming, and that's so cool .




preparation time   ;  3 hours (   2 hours chilling )

 200 g of  all purpose  flour

 100 g of powdered sugar

 1 tablespoon of  vanilla extract or powder 

 3 egg yolks

 100 g butter

 To brush  the biscuits  :

 1 egg yolk

 1 teaspoon of water



 Mix the sugar and the flour.  Add the egg yolks, liquid vanilla and mix the dough with your fingertips.

  Then add the diced butter and work the dough until you get a ball.

 Put it on a plate, film, and set aside at least two hours in the refrigerator.

 2 hours later: Take the dough out of the refrigerator, roll it out to a thickness of 3 to 4 millimeters.

  Cut out cookie shapes from this dough using cookie cutters.  If you don't have one, use a cup or a small glass .

 Place the shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

 Combine the egg yolk and water in a bowl.  Using a brush, brush the cookies with this preparation.

 Bake in a preheated oven at 160 ° C for 15 minutes of cooking.  Pay attention to the baking time which varies greatly depending on the size of your cookies and your oven.From 8 or 9 minutes, start watching.

 Let cool well before moving the cookies because they harden as they cool.
