Christmas cookies




Christmas is not complete without cookies .This is one of easiest way to make christmas cookies during holidays . You can make these cookies within few hours. Try to glaze them with the following glaze after cookies are completely cooled.


preparation time ; 40 minutes 
baking time ; 20 minutes

12 tablespoons butter
1 cup of sugar
1 spoon of salt
1 large egg
1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
2 tablespoons of fine grated ginger or ginger powder 
4 cups of self raising flour ( or sift 4 cups plain flour with 2 tsp of baking powder)
Cookie cutters 

Decoration:

Red, green and black food colors
2 cups sifted icing sugar
2 tablespoons of water
 

Method of preparation

In the mixer, beat the butter with the sugar and salt until it forms a light cream.

Add the egg, vanilla and ginger and continue beating until well combined.

Slow down and add flour  little by little, until it forms a homogeneous mass.

Form a ball, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Roll out the dough on a floured surface until 0.5 cm thick.

Cut with Christmas cutters and arrange on greased baking sheets.

Bake in a medium oven (180 ÂșC), preheated, for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned, being careful not to brown too much.

Decoration:

In a container, place ½ cup (tea) of sugar and few drops of food coloring until the desired color.

Gradually add the water and mix until the cream is not too thick.

When the cookies have cooled, decorate with icing as desired.

Wait to dry and serve.
