Lentils are high in protein and fiber and low in fat, which makes them a healthy substitute for meat. They're also packed with folate, iron, phosphorus, potassium and fiber.
Ingredients
• 3 ½ cups (tea) of rice;
•1 chopped onion;
• 1 spoon of chopped garlic
• 1 cup of lentils;
• 3 shallow spoons of butter;
• 1 cup of pitted raisins;
• 1 ½ cup of dry white wine or chicken or vegetable broth
• salt to taste;
• 6 cups of water.
Preparation mode
In a boiling pan the boil lentil in 3 cups of water for 5 minutes. Strain and set aside. Fry the onion and chopped garlic in butter. Add rice, salt, reserved lentils, raisins, wine and water. Cook over low heat until the rice is tender. If necessary, add more water. Serve it hot.
